This is a poem that a friend of mine shared with me. It's a poem about her "desire" to share Jesus with a close friend and how her procrastination left her with the most important unanswered question of all...
"Where did her friend go when he died?"
Why did she not know? She never 'got around' to sharing her faith?"
“Tomorrow?”
You walked into my life, on a warm summer day
A close kinship almost instant, funny that way
Who knew how many years of summers we would share
The smell of charcoal, sounds of kids playing, fireworks in the air
By the way, I have a friend I’d like you to know
But it’s getting late and soon will be time to go
Tomorrow I’ll introduce you to my wonderful Savior
Today’s almost gone, we’ll have some more time later
The leaves have all changed to pretty autumn scenes
Crisp mornings and cold evenings call for warm chili beans
Haunted trails and hayrides, children’s laughter and silly screams
Cozy evenings watching movies and talk of future dreams
By the way, I have a friend I’d like you to know
But it’s getting late and soon will be time to go
Tomorrow I’ll introduce you to my wonderful Savior
Today’s almost gone, we’ll have some more time later
The winters come and white snow blankets the ground
Santa’s coming soon, the children run round and round
Close friends, love, laughter, and hugs
Twinkling lights and presents and steaming coffee mugs
By the way, I have a friend I’d like you to know
It’s His birthday soon, I’m going to His party, would you like to go?
It’s a busy time, I’m sure you’re tired, it’s okay though
Tomorrow I’ll introduce you to my Savior, today’s almost gone we’ll have more time later
The birds start singing their happy song and the grass turns to pretty green
New life abundant all around, a beautiful spring scene
Let’s get together my old pal, we’ve been closed up way to long
Let’s get out, enjoy the weather, hear nature’s pretty song
What happened friend? Where did you go?
Lord, I miss my friend so much
A split second changed our lives
Whoever dreamed of such?
I have a wonderful friend, I wanted him to meet
All I can do is hope and pray that he’s sitting at my Savior’s feet
You see he told me of a time when he was born again
I didn’t question or talk to much, I didn’t want to offend
I’d like to tell you everyone
Don’t put off things needed to be done
Seasons come and seasons go
And in an instant the wind can blow
Oh Lord I pray one day I’ll be sitting at your feet
I pray my friend will be sitting next to you, I pray again we’ll meet
I had every chance to talk of you and share your holy name
Forgive me God, Forgive me friend, tomorrow never came
